The dinosaur with 3 horns is popularly known as Triceratops. It was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous period, about 68 to 65 million years ago, in what is now North America. Triceratops is famous for its three horns on its head with the largest horn located above its nose.
The name Triceratops means "three-horned face" in Greek. It had a large bony frill on the back of its head that provided protection to its neck. Triceratops weighed around 6 to 12 tonnes and was approximately 8-9 meters in length and 3 meters in height.
Triceratops was a social animal and likely lived in herds. It is believed that they used their horns for fighting off predators and other males during mating season. Despite its large size, Triceratops was a herbivore and primarily ate plants such as ferns, cycads, and palms.
Triceratops became extinct along with other dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous period, around 65 million years ago, possibly due to a catastrophic asteroid impact. Today, Triceratops fossils are found in various parts of North America, including Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Alberta.
